Conservative actor Tim Allen, one who has bravely spoken out about the suppression of and hatred directed toward, conservatives in Hollywood, is back in the red suit, white beard, and Santa hat. That’s right, he’s reprising his role as Santa Claus for Disney+, which is shockingly allowing him to play the role as a conservative and put the Christ back in Christmas.
And Allen does seem to intend on making the role more openly conservative and Christian than it has been in the past, with his Santa saying, in the Christmas comedy miniseries The Santa Clauses, which just launched on Disney+, “Saying ‘Merry Christmas to all’ has suddenly become problematic”.
While it’s surprising Disney let him say that line, what’s not surprising is that the libs are totally melting down over it, as the Daily Wire observed and reported, saying:
“What was going on in the minds of the writers as they penned this semi-political one-liner?” an article on The A.V. Club wondered.
DigitalTrends had a similar reaction to that moment. “To suggest it strips the story of some of its charm is an understatement, but with only two episodes to go on, the series’ plans for its right-wing Santa are almost certainly going to make or break the show,” that reviewer observed, also noting how Allen’s character seems “like he’s spent too much of the Christmas offseason watching Fox News.”
And those weren’t the only lib outlets freaking out. Cracked did too, mocking Allen’s caring about the religious elements of the show, saying:
According to Allen, he and the writing team found “a brilliant way” to heavily incorporate religious elements into the fifth and sixth episodes of the show. As executive producer, he pushed back on the more fantastical elements that Disney included in its pitch, explaining, “It originally had a lot of otherworldly characters, and ghosts, and goblins.” Allen didn’t want any sacrilegious supernatural characters distracting from the Christian core of a series based on the premise that whoever kills Santa gets to be the next Santa, as if Kris Kringle is some pirate king.
“If you want to get into Santa Claus, you’re gonna have to go back to history, and it’s all about religion,” Allen lectured — this esoteric fact that the history of Christmas is connected to religion must have been censored by the Biden administration in the same legislation that outlawed the phrase “Merry Christmas to all” and mandated bland red cups at Starbucks.
[…]This new direction for the Santa Clause franchise feels like an attempt by Allen to push the property into a weird in-between place that combines the morals and piety of Christian movies and TV shows with the entertainment value and watchability of real media.
If this change in direction pays off, it could pave the way for other beloved holiday film franchises to skew more religious — watch out for Christ Died Hard for Our Sins next Easter.
And, of course, the Twitter libs came out to attack as well, with one saying “Santa had the red hat all along and we just ignored it“, a reference to MAGA hats.
Allen, commenting on the show and what it’s about, defended the more religious, pro-Christian tone of the show, saying “This is Christmas. It’s Christ-mas. It literally is a religious holiday.”
