Recently, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) reported that her request to subpoena Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs was denied by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL). Blackburn took to social media, where she posted a series of messages on X (formerly known as Twitter) explaining her efforts while slamming the Democrats for hindering them.
The Tennessee senator initially criticized Durbin for blocking her subpoena request, implying liberal politicians have an ulterior motive in preventing the infamous flight logs for Epstein’s private jet from being revealed. “@SenatorDurbin BLOCKED my request to subpoena Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs. What are Democrats trying to hide?” she said.
Blackburn further explained her motivation for the subpoena, wanting to uncover the identities of those who participated in the heinous crimes Epstein committed. “I want to know the names of every single person who may have taken Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane and participated in his human trafficking ring. RT if you do too,” she posted yesterday.
Durbin’s denial of Blackburn’s request follows Democrat initiatives on the Senate Judiciary Committee to “reverse court-pack” the Supreme Court. Reportedly, Democrats voted to subpoena two private citizens in efforts against Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. As a result, Blackburn slammed the “two tiers” of justice the left embodies.
“This is a sad day in the history of the prestigious Judiciary Committee and further underscores the Left’s two tiers of justice crusade. Senate Democrats have long been trying to undermine the Supreme Court and Justice Clarence Thomas, but want to ignore Justice Sotomayor allegedly using her taxpayer-funded staff to coordinate speaking engagements in exchange for selling and promoting thousands of her books. They also don’t want to have a conversation about the estate of Jeffrey Epstein to find out the names of every person who participated in Jeffrey Epstein’s human trafficking ring,” Sen. Blackburn said in a statement.
Sen. Blackburn posted a video message to her X account, further denouncing the Dems for stepping in the way of her intention to subpoena Jeffrey Epstein’s flight records and Justice Sotomayor’s staff. She slammed the committee, asserting that this is not the way it is intended to function.
“Well, if you were not watching C span and if you didn’t see that judiciary committee hearing today, This was quite a mess. but we were trying to get my subpoenas of Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs and the subpoena of Sotomayor in her book deal. Things that weren’t reported, but we have found out about this through the news. And of course, the chairman blocked it all. cut it off. That’s not how this committee is supposed to work,” she said in a video posted to X.
Sen. Blackburn initially made her request for the subpoenas in early November. “And since we’re in the business of issuing subpoenas now, here are a few more that I’ve filed: a subpoena to Jeffrey Epstein’s estate to provide the flight logs for his private plane,” Blackburn stated. “Given the numerous allegations of human trafficking and sexual abuse surrounding Mr. Epstein, I think it is very important that we identify everybody who was on that plane and how many trips they took on that plane and the destinations to which they arrived,” she added.
