Recently, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) confronted a left-wing activity who questioned if he would call for a ceasefire in Gaza amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in the region. Since the deadly attack against Israel in early October that claimed well over one thousand innocent lives, Israel has made it a goal to wipe out the Hamas terrorists.
Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin, who has reportedly defended Hamas on social media, approached Marco Rubio in the hallway of a building in Washington, D.C., where she asked the senator if he supported a ceasefire in Gaza. “Senator Rubio will you call for a ceasefire in Gaza?” she asked. “No I will not,” Rubio responded confidently. “On the contrary, are you filming this? I want you guys to get this.”
Rubio emphasized his stance on the issue, calling for the complete destruction of Hamas, reaffirming how truly evil they are for the crimes they committed. “I want them to destroy every element of Hamas they can get their hands on,” he added. “These people are vicious animals who did horrifying crimes, and I hope you guys post that, because that’s my position.” Benjamin further questioned, “And what about the civilians that are being killed every day?”
Rubio hit back, stating that he ultimately assigns all the blame for the ensuing violence on Hamas, calling for the terrorist organization to quit hiding behind civilians. “I blame Hamas for that,” Rubio said. “Hamas should stop hiding behind civilians, putting civilians in the way. Hamas knew that this was going to lead to this. So Hamas must stop building their military installations underneath hospitals, underneath civilian –”
Benjamin cited numbers put out by Hamas’ Gaza Ministry of Health, which have been scrutinized for their accuracy, and asked Rubio if he cared about the loss of innocent life. “Absolutely I do,” Rubio said. “I care, I think it’s horrifying, I think it’s terrible, and I think Hamas is a hundred percent to blame. That’s what I think.” Standing firm in his replies Rubio instructed the far-left activist to ensure the footage was shared on the internet, stating, “Make sure you post that please.” See footage of the encounter below.
The American Tribune recently reported on comments from former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who defended former President Donald Trump’s presence on the global stage, particularly in the Middle East.
“Marie, in all due respect, you say they have been negotiating powerfully. Yes, we have gotten hostages back — who should have never been hostages! I don’t believe this attack would have taken place on President Trump’s watch, because this administration has not shown strength on the world stage.”
“The one question that should have been asked was not asked in that briefing — maybe it was asked before we dropped in, I didn’t hear it, though — my question, if I’m a White House correspondent, would have been, ‘Why have you not re-designated the Houthis as terrorist organization?’ Guess who did? President Trump on Jan. 15 of 2021. They were delisted on Feb. 4 by the Biden administration! And meanwhile, now we learn Houthis are trying to hijack ships, they’re shooting off ballistic missiles near Americans. Why have you not listed them? Pompeo told me it’s inexcusable,” she continued.
