Team Biden is ramping up for 2024 and rolling out the messaging it intends to use in an attempt to discredit former President Donald Trump, with the Biden-Harris Campaign even rolling out a Thanksgiving “script” for liberals to use when arguing with conservative family members.
Among the bizarre claims made in the script, posted to X (formerly Twitter) by the Biden-Harris HQ X account was the assertion that Trump did not secure the border in his first term and, if reelected, will make the border situation even worse.
The script made that claim when instructing liberals on how to respond to the “Trump secured our border!” claim. It said Biden supporters should say, “No he didn’t,” “All he did was separate families, put children in cages, and leave behind a broken immigration system for Joe Biden to clean up,” and “Now, if he’s reelected, he’s promising to make it worse: Rounding up Latinos into mass detention camps, ending birthright citizenship, and shooting people at will.”
The script also downplayed inflation and Trump’s economic success. It instructed Biden supporters to say, if a family member says the Trump economy was better, “Wrong. Trump had the worst jobs record of any president since the Great Depression. Inflation is the lowest it’s been in two years, the economy is growing, and unemployment has been under 4% for the longest stretch on record. Just look at your Thanksgiving costs compared to last year – gas prices: cheaper. Turkey: cheaper. Eggs: cheaper. Joe Biden has created nearly 14 million jobs and the economy is on the rise.”
Relatedly, Biden also recently announced the arrest of a cartel kingpin, saying, “On November 22, Mexican security forces captured Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas (“El Nini”), the notorious head of security for the Chapitos wing of the Sinaloa Cartel. For nearly three years, El Nini has been one of Mexico’s and the United States’ most wanted criminals, indicted by the United States for his roles in perpetrating violence and illicit fentanyl trafficking into the United States, and both our countries are safer with him behind bars and facing justice for his crimes. His arrest also follows Mexico’s arrest and extradition to the United States of another Chapitos leader, Ovidio Guzmán López, earlier this year.”
Biden then tried to use the arrest to look tough on the border, saying, “These arrests are testament to the commitment between the United States and Mexico to secure our communities against violence, counter the cartels, and end the scourge of illicit fentanyl that is hurting so many families. We will continue working as strong partners to do everything possible to hold criminals accountable for jeopardizing public health and safety in our two countries. As I told President Andrés Manuel López Obrador when we met in San Francisco on November 17, nothing is beyond our reach when Mexico and the United States stand together.”
The Biden Campaign has also attacked Trump over Trump’s support for guns and the Second Amendment, with Biden campaign spokesperson Seth Schuster saying, “A Donald Trump presidency will mean more guns in schools and more guns in the hands of criminals, all because he thinks being pro-gun makes him look tough. But his refusal to stand up to the gun lobby to protect our kids makes him weak and a coward.” Schuster added, “We simply cannot allow his extreme agenda in the White House that will cost more American lives.”
Jason Miller, Trump’s senior campaign adviser, ripped into Biden’s attempted attacks on Trump, saying, “This is the latest, sad, desperate attempt to revive Joe Biden’s failing presidency, but it’s not going to work. The reality is that it’s Joe Biden against democracy. Joe Biden has weaponized our justice system in an unconstitutional manner.“
