It has been a wild ride for NFL quarterback Carson Wentz. Since being taken second overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft, the North Dakota State star has gone from potential NFL MVP candidate and franchise quarterback to traded and eventually unemployed in a matter of six short seasons.
Wentz started a full season for the Indianapolis Colts in 2021 and posted respectable stats, but was let go in the off-season and landed with Washington in 2022. He started half of a season with the Commanders before being benched and once again released in the offseason.
The 30-year-old quarterback spent the first half of the 2023 season unemployed but recently found a new team and welcomed a new member to the Wentz team. The veteran signal-caller signed with the suddenly quarterback-needy Los Angeles Rams and welcomed his third daughter with his wife, Madison Oberg, cementing his status as the ultimate girl-dad.
When Ram’s quarterback Matthew Stafford was injured, a door opened up for Wentz to return to the NFL. It was impeccable timing that Wentz signed during the bye week, and the baby girl was born so the proud daddy could be home for it.
The child was born on Friday, November 10, and the proud dad wrote on social media: “Girl Dad x3 ! Meet our new little blessing… Hayes Emersyn 🥰. What a wild week it’s been, but I’m beyond grateful this little girl made her entrance into this crazy world at just the right time so I could be home for it! Gods timing is always perfect…. learning that more and more everyday.”
Wentz, who is a devout Christian and the founder of the AO1 Foundation, has, at times, had rocky relationships with his NFL coaches, but his relationship at home is rock solid as if his faith. He continued: “So thankful for my incredible wife and all she does for me and our 3 girlies! She was a rockstar once again! 🙌🏻 Welcome to our crazy fam and our crazy adventure, my sweet Hayes. We love you so much already!”
Wentz, who proposed to his now wife on the rooftop of a Central Kentucky Castle, shared the news of the impending blessing back in July when he posted to social media: “We’re so grateful that God has blessed us with… another GIRL coming soon! Can’t wait to see all the adventures that lie ahead for these girlies and how quickly dad can lose his hair 🙃. But in all seriousness, we’re so excited to meet this little one and thankful for all the support we have!”

Even if things on the field haven’t always been ideal for Wentz, his life as a husband and a father has. The quarterback and his bride married in 2018, months after winning a Super Bowl ring, albeit while being injured, with the Eagles.
Through all of the ups and downs, Wentz has never wavered in his faith or as a husband and father. Even if he never wins another NFL game, his relationship with God, his wife, and his kids will fulfill Carson Wentz much more than the NFL ever could.
