Conservative country star Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany Aldean, have something of a long-running feud with Maren Morris, the woke singer who declared to the Los Angeles Times that she was quitting country music over it being the usual list of “isms” that the left is constantly accusing everything of being.
That feud began with Brittany Aldean posting a video to Instagram in which she weighed in on the transgender kids issue, saying, “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life.”
Morris then attacked Brittany on Twitter over the post, calling her “Insurrection Barbie” and saying, “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.” That was in response to a tweet from Cassadee Pope, who said, “You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging. But instead here we are, hearing someone compare their “tomboy phase” to someone wanting to transition. Real nice.” Aldean, for his part, responded to all that by commenting “My Barbie” on Brittany’s post.

Later, Aldean joked with the crowd at a concert about calling up some of his friends, saying, “I though man, who could I call? I got some friends in town…I could call Luke Bryan. I could call Kane Brown. See if Kenny Chesney’s here and not at the beach.” Adding to that list, he named Morris, to which the crowd responded with lots of laughter and shouting.

Well, in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Aldean commented on that situation, saying that he has too much going on in real life to care about Morris or her opinions overly much, saying, “The stuff with her is so far off my radar at this point. I’ve never talked to her for more than probably 10 seconds. So I don’t really have an opinion about her.”
Continuing, he added that the reason he jumped in wasn’t necessarily Morris’ far left political views but rather Morris having attacked his wife in the media, saying, “The only thing I knew was that she was coming after my wife in the media. Obviously, her and I are on completely different ends of the spectrum as far as our beliefs. But I don’t know her at all, truly.”
He added that it was extremely odd for Morris, whom he doesn’t know personally, was so intent on attacking him and Brittany while claiming to know much about them, saying, “That’s what was so weird for me: This chick’s coming after us, and I’ve never even talked to her before. Yet she claimed to know so much about me and my wife somehow.”
Morris quit country music because country fans prefer non-woke songs to woke ones. Speaking on that, she told the Los Angeles Times, “People are streaming these songs out of spite. It’s not out of true joy or love of the music. It’s to own the libs. And that’s so not what music is intended for.”
Continuing, she added, “Music is supposed to be the voice of the oppressed — the actual oppressed. And now it’s being used as this really toxic weapon in culture wars.” She concluded by saying, “I’ve said everything I can say.”
