Around this time of year, creative Halloween displays begin catching major attention, and social media begins going nuts over the design and imagination of otherwise normal scenes. This time, a Wisconsin woman decided to create a display of a bunch of skeletons that represent each one of Taylor Swift’s studio albums.
Taylor Swift has been hugely successful in recent years, even penetrating into the world of the National Football League and finding as much airtime during Kansas City Chiefs broadcasts as some of the role players on the team. This, however, is likely the first time in her life that she has had a viral display of skeletons made in her likeness.
Katelyn McLaughlin is a Wisconsin homeowner and a massive fan of Taylor Swift, otherwise known as a Swiftie, and found that her yard would be the perfect place to pay homage to the pop star’s massively successful Era’s Tour that has swept through the country with insane buzz and popularity.
McLaughlin put together a live slideshow of sorts, using wood to create boxes for skeletons to stand in. There is one box for each of Taylor’s major studio releases throughout her career. Then, she dressed all of the skeletons in wigs and iconic Taylor Swift outfits to signify the various stages of her career.
Taylor Swift seems to be the ticket to fame for anybody or anything that wants to find itself in the national spotlight. This display has given McLaughlin a level of fame that she could never have dreamed of after making a simple yet very creative and fun Halloween festive display.
Her fame has risen to such great heights that now she has penetrated the NFL world to such a degree that her own fans are becoming fans of football. NFL star Travis Kelce has seen unprecedented social media growth following the breaking news that he is in a relationship with Taylor. Since then, she has made her way to all of Kelce’s games.
Things appear to be getting serious between the pair, as Kelce’s father seemed to give her his approval, and she has been seen mingling with his mother in a box during a Chiefs Game. Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes even went so far as to say that he wanted to help Kelce make some big plays to impress his new lady-friend who was in attendance.
Some fans, however, are not so thrilled at seeing the pop star on their screen every Sunday. One such person is the owner of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy, who voiced some major displeasure at the constant ramming of Swift down the throats of NFL fans.
Portnoy said, “But the common NFL fan, you’re going to have to walk a fine line between them being like, ‘Hey, I want to watch football. This is my time away, maybe from my wife and my daughters to enjoy some me time.’ And you’re turning it into a Taylor Swift concert. It’s not my concern because I love both things, but you do have to walk that fine line. You don’t want to alienate your normal crowd.”
