Travis Kelce is everywhere. The superstar tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs has carved out a Hall of Fame career and won Super Bowls, but before his relationship with a certain pop megastar, few outside of NFL fans knew his face. That clearly has changed, as Kelce seems to be on exactly every other commercial, shilling everything from the COVID-19 shot to credit repair.
In the inevitable run-up to Kelce being the most annoyingly oversaturated athlete on the planet, it appears there are also less annoying, even sweet, sentimental sides to Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.
The star tight end’s brother also plays in the NFL. In fact, Jason Kelce is quite good as well. The older Kelce is likely a Hall of Famer as well as an offensive lineman. Jason Kelce plays for the Philadelphis Eagles, and when football season cranks up, there is precious little time for the brothers to hang out.
Since Travis plays in the AFC and Jason plays on the NFC, they rarely face each other on the gridiron. They did, however, face off in the most recent Super Bowl, with Travis’ Chiefs eaking out a narrow victory over Jason’s Philadelphia Eagles.
Despite not having a great deal of time to pal around during the season, the brothers cherish the time that they get. Recently the boys were spotted watching the Philadelphia Phillies play the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League Playoffs.
During a press conference a few days later, Travis opined on the importance of family. He said: “Family time is priceless. Anytime you can get around your loved ones, you got to take advantage of that. Unfortunately, during the football season or because of the football season, I don’t get to see him in person.”
The brothers manage to stay somewhat connected during the season, as they host a podcast together. While “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce” is a huge success, the brothers record remotely, so they still aren’t getting face-to-face interaction.
Travis added: “New Heights, our podcast, has been able to kind of bring together what we’ve really been missing since our college days. But any chance I get to go and hang out with them or see my mom and dad, I’m always jumping in the bit.”
“New Heights” is the number one most downloaded sports podcast, largely because of the Swift effect. However, downloads are downloads, and Kelce talked about their successful pod. He continued: “I don’t think either one of us could have anticipated it is where it is now. Both of us having great seasons last year, and meeting up in the Super Bowl obviously has a lot to do with that. But everybody getting to know my brother more from a personal standpoint, getting the offensive lineman a little more face time, I think that has been awesome and people have really appreciated that.”
Travis attended Jason’s game recent Sunday night game, a day after making a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live. Indeed, Travis Kelce is everywhere. The added activity hasn’t affected his level of play or the team, so as long as he produces on the field, we are sure to see Travis Kelce in our dreams, or nightmares as is the case for opposing teams.
