Amid the war that is waging in the Gaza Strip between Israel and Palestinian forces, plenty of high-profile celebrities in America have weighed in with their opinion. One such celebrity was Auburn University Head Basketball Coach Bruce Pearl, who strongly threw his support behind Israel while admonishing democrat presidents for their soft foreign policy that he believes led to the current conflict.
Pearl made an appearance on the “Don’t @ Me” podcast, presented by OutKick, to discuss the conflict and to share his opinion about the cause of the war. Pearl made an extraordinary claim, saying that American taxpayers funded organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah. He also did not shy away from calling out Joe Biden and Barack Obama for their roles in empowering the terrorist organizations.
With a diplomatic start to his explanation, Bruce Pearl noted that he believes that both Biden and Obama were “well-intentioned” with their support for certain groups in the Middle East, looking only to create a more fair balance of power. The problem? Well, the problem is rather apparent when we look at the state of the Gaza Strip right now.
In a transcript shared by Fox News Digital, Pearl said, “Trump comes in, and I know some people don’t like Donald Trump because he tweets or he’s not presidential, but his policies were spot on. He comes in and says, wait a second, there’s pay to slay?”
He continued, “Wait a second, so Hamas and the Palestinian Authority, they’re actually taking money and if you kill a Jew or murder a Jew or you do this suicide mission, they’re going to take care of your family and pay? This is ridiculous. We’re not funding that. And he cut it off. He cut off Iran.”
Pearl hit the nail on the head with that one. People took all of the small behavioral issues with Donald Trump that they found to be “unpresidential” and decided that he is not fit to be a good president. That complete disregard for the actual policies that his office pushed is what has put the world in such peril today.
Bruce Pearl went on, saying, “I don’t like to be divided, but here’s the deal, if Iran wants to call out Israel and for the destruction of Israel, and they’ve been saying it since 1979 when the Shah was removed, I take them at their word for it… This is a Holocaust, this is a crime, and now what’s about to take place has nothing to do with revenge. This is not about revenge. What Israel must do now is nothing about revenge, it’s about survival.”
More and more public figures seem to be calling for a return to Donald Trump as the former president seems poised to mount a strong opposition to Joe Biden and his seat in the Oval Office in 2024. This kind of support was also present in 2016 and propelled Donald Trump to the presidency, along with sending America to one of its greatest four year highs ever. My fingers are crossed that this trend is once again present in 2024.
