Recently, Republicans in the House of Representatives introduced legislation that would stop President Biden from allowing Palestinians to resettle within the United States. Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) and Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) spearheaded the bill titled Guaranteeing Aggressors Zero Admission Act” or the GAZA Act.
The two Republicans commented on concerns about national security being a driving force behind the legislation, implying that allowing Palestinians to flow into the United States could lead to terrorist attacks from bad actors on domestic soil.
“Following the horrific attack by Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists on innocent Israeli civilians, the last thing America ought to do is trust identity documents issued by the radicals that oversee these territories,” Tiffany said in a statement. “We need to put our security at home first and that starts by closing the door to bad actors who might be seeking to enter our country.”
“At a time when the threat of terrorism is not only grotesquely on display but being encouraged and justified, it is critical that we do our best to ensure the security of our nation,” Ogles noted.
On the note of immigration, the United States’ infrastructure is already strained by an unsustainable number of migrants pouring into the country. Notably, in urban areas like New York City, Chicago, and other Urban areas that marketed themselves as “sanctuary cities,” local leaders are struggling to come up with sufficient solutions for the number of migrants they have on their hands.
The American Tribune recently reported on comments from Bill Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time,” who slammed “sanctuary city hypocrite” liberals. The host criticized Democrats who previously dismissed the idea of building a border wall, yet have called for reinforcing the border amid the migrant crisis under the Biden administration.
“We’re gonna talk about the border. Because, you know, I feel like one issue since we’ve been offered these five months is sort of like gathered more intention and the other and that is that the border crisis has sort of become a national crisis. It was always something like, oh, it’s down there. And yes, it’s bad, but it’s now it’s all over the country because they’ve been bussing to migrants and so forth,” Maher said.
After the Dems spent years demonizing former President Trump and his border initiatives, United States Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas called for “an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers.”
Maher pointed out the political hypocrisy in this situation, where it seems like the Democrats are vindicating major points of Mr. Trump’s campaign. Recently, Donald Trump even requested an apology for seemingly retracing their stance on the border.
“Let me get back to the border issue politically because I feel like this is a disaster for the Democrats. Because one I mean Trump today said he wants Biden to apologize. Because it looks like Biden is adopting his policy. This does not look good for the Democrats. Also they look like sanctuary city hypocrites. They were the ones who said look, we’re the compassionate people,” Maher added.
