Donald Trump has both his supporters and detractors feverishly awaiting a big announcement that he says is coming next week.
Trump appeared at a rally to support J.D. Vance for U.S. Senate on Wednesday and said this.
I’m going to be making a very big announcement on Tuesday, November 15 at Mar-a-lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
That got the wheels turning for Trump fans and now we have this weekend to try to guess what this big announcement is going to be.
It could be a 2024 presidential run, sure, but here’s an idea that is even better.
Donald Trump should throw his hat in the ring to become the next Speaker of the House once the Republicans win a majority in Congress.
Historically, the Speaker of the House is a role held by a sitting member of the House of Representatives but that is not a prerequisite for the job.
The role is simply decided by a majority vote, where each of the two main political parties nominates one candidate for the role.
So, what could Donald Trump do in that role?
As Speaker of the House, Donald Trump would control Congress’ investigations.
Picture that… Donald Trump would be in charge of the Hunter Biden investigation.
Hunter Biden and his nefarious business ties were hot topics of debate in 2020, and a clear look into the dealings of the First Family would give Trump more ammunition than ever before.
Say goodbye to televised January 6th committee hearings, and hello to a nationally broadcast looking into the defunct Biden family.
And it doesn’t end there, the Speaker of the House administers the oath of office to each member of the House of Representatives.
That means the entirety of the “squad”, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s group of radical leftist female representatives, would have to approach Donald Trump, head in hand, as they say, the oath of office.
That is primetime television.
Also, I can’t think of a better launching point for the second half of Donald Trump’s presidential career.
If Washington insiders are going to fight to keep him out of the White House, Trump can be a thorn in their side with no term limits as the Speaker of the House.
Couple this with a potential return to Twitter, and there will be crying leftists around every corner of Washington D.C.
It’s not all fun and games either.
This role would give Trump control over spending, which he showed in his first presidential term is a strong point of his policy.
Trump could stall the rapid spending in Biden’s Build Back Better plan or in his Inflation Reduction act, to legitimately help all of the American people.
The national debt would be forever grateful for Trump taking this role.
Now that everyone’s hopes are up, we wait until the announcement.
Keep yourself glued to the news on November 15th, as this announcement is sure to make waves nationwide.
I will keep my fingers crossed for Trump to take the reins of Congress, and to usher American politics back into a Golden Age.
