NFL Quarterback Caught Making Vulgar Comment On Live-Mic During Game

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is going viral after his vulgar in-game comments were heard. During his team’s win over the New Orleans Saints, Mayfield allowed his competitive spirit and adrenaline to get the better of him as he spewed out a sexual innuendo during the game. The problem? Mayfield forgot he was surrounded by live microphones.

Emotions run high for players and coaches during the constant adrenaline-inducing action of an NFL football game, and it is a certainty that plenty of things are said on the sidelines that are not fit for children’s ears to hear. For his part, Mayfield played an awesome game and led his team to a victory against a division rival.

The quarterback completed 25 of his 32 pass attempts for 246 yards and threw three touchdown passes en route to a 26 to 9 win. That success seems to be what emboldened him to say the phrase that was hilariously caught on a live mike. “My d**k got hard as soon as I saw him running in the motion back,” Mayfield said to teammate and star wideout Chris Godwin. The video was quickly posted to X and now has over 100 thousand views at the time of writing this article.

After the game, Chris Godwin spoke to reporters about the passion and fire that Mayfield plays with and how that impacts the team. He said, “He’s a fighter. [He’s got] a ton of resilience. I think that he has been a great fit for us. You see him making plays, scrambling. He takes some big shots and pops back up. … It makes the offensive line want to block more. It makes us want to run our routes a little bit harder and give him a chance because we know that he is going to extend the play as much as he can to give us a chance. I am happy to have him.”

Godwin continued, explaining that Mayfield’s competitiveness and swagger allowed the team to ignore people in the media who said the team was destined to have a bad season. “If we were listening to everything that everyone outside of the building was saying, why even strap it up?”

“I think the good thing about the people that we have in our building is that we are only worried about what we can control. We understand that we have to go out there and play the games. It’s up to us. We have to go out and put the work in and then go out and prove it on the field.”

Unfortunately for Mayfield, this hilarious hot-mic moment is going to overshadow the awesome work he likely has done as quarterback of the rebuilding Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Many fans saw him as a major question mark going into the season, but he has proven to have both the ability and the mindset to excel at the NFL level.
