Country music superstar Thomas Rhett gave fans yet another reason to love him over the weekend, as when fan experienced a medical emergency at his show on Saturday and had to be rushed out of Bridgestone Arena, Rhett paused the concert for a minute to lead the audience in prayer for the fan, Terry.
Rhett, who could see what was happening from his vantage point on the stage, first drew attention to Terry and asked if there were medical personnel who could help, saying, “Hey, there’s somebody down here, who’s like, really hurt.”
Then, after Terry was rushed out of the Bridgestone Arena on a stretcher, Rhett asked his fans to join him in prayer. “Father God, we just ask for healing over Terry,” Rhett said. “We know that you are the ultimate physician. We know that you are the ultimate healer. Pray for Terry’s family right now, cause [they’re] pretty scared for Terry, who’s very scared,” he said.
Continuing, Rhett prayed, “God, we know that you are a miracle worker. We just pray over Terry and his family right now. We ask that everybody in this room, after they leave tonight, will continue to pray for Terry and his family.” Finishing the prayer, he said, “We love you, we thank you for Jesus. We pray this in His name, Amen.”
Posting about the matter on X (formerly Twitter) later, Rhett said, “I’m thankful to report that Terry, who needed medical attention at last night’s show in Nashville, is home and doing well. He and his family appreciate all the prayers! Love y’all so much.”
“You see people all of the time that basically come from nothing, are given a record deal and have such huge success, and then all of sudden they kind of lose and forget where they’ve come from and are overwhelmed with entitlement. I think that with fame, the devil makes you think you deserve everything, and that is something since day one that Lauren and I have been very intentional about,” he continued.
Similarly, his wife, Lauren, explained, “It is very evident to me that the Lord is just like, ‘hey you don’t want to do this sometimes, but you’re just gonna have to suck it up, because this is what you’re supposed to be doing, and so just keep doing it.’ There are so many good things that come from that and we try to always see the positives in that and trusting that for whatever reason, God has this faith in us to carry out whatever purpose that is, and that makes me feel good to know that He is walking us through it and that we are doing it for His glory, and not ours.”
