The battle between “X” CEO Elon Musk and Joe Biden’s Department of Justice rages on as the Tesla and SpaceX boss is increasingly under the microscope. Musk, whose political leanings have shifted significantly since the election of Joe Biden, now identifies as a free-speech absolutist, and that has rankled the left, which was once his biggest fan base.
Shockingly, Musk actually supported Joe Biden, but the current state of the country and the actions of Biden have led to an extreme shift for the tech mogul. As scrutiny grows, more people are recognizing that Biden and his strongarm DOJ are taking extreme measures to investigate and persecute the X head.
Recently, members of government, including Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie, have gone as far as to accuse the DOJ of using “mafia tactics” regarding the investigations into Musk. Massie suggested that the DOJ’s actions are retaliatory in response to Musk criticizing the “censorship regime” within the US government.
Part of Musk’s grievance against the DOJ stems from the allegations that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg spent an alleged $400 million in 2020 to influence the election in favor of the Democrats. However, Zuckerberg has received no ill-treatment or investigations from the government.
Massie drew comparisons between Musk and Zuckerberg in terms of the treatment received from the DOJ. Considering the two separate investigations into Musk. Massie is arguing that the government’s action against Elon Musk is discretionary and retaliatory.
It is becoming clear to the public at large that Musk is being investigated because of his stance on free speech, while Zuckerberg is walking scot-free because of Meta’s role in allegedly influencing the 2020 election. This isn’t sitting well with Thomas Massie.
One of the only members of Congress to take Joe Biden and his DOJ to task, Massie refuses to relent or walk away from the obvious bias being displayed by this administration.
Massie’s remarks have instigated a new round of talk about the role of government in regulating tech giants and the potential for abuse of power. Massie’s comments also come at a time when the public is increasingly concerned about the influence of big tech on politics and society. His statements are sure to fuel ongoing debates about the fairness and impartiality of government investigations into high-profile tech executives like Zuckerberg and Musk.
Massie summed up his take on the investigations of Elon Musk: “Elon Musk was a Democrat who admittedly supported Biden but then he became a critic of the administration and exposed the censorship regime. Now per public reports the DOJ has opened not one but two investigations of Elon Musk… These look like mafia tactics.”
It is becoming increasingly clear that Joe Biden is using his bully pulpit to punish Musk and exonerate Zuckerberg. Musk stands for free speech and transparency, while Zuckerberg has proven to be little more than a liberal shill for the leftist agenda.
Thomas Massie has called out the administrative state for their bias, and while ultimately nothing may be done about it, at least the American people have been clued into the Biden administration’s dirty tricks.
