Florida governor Ron DeSantis produced a decisive victory in Tuesday’s reelection bid and capstoned an incredible first term that bore witness to one of the great conservative revivals in contemporary politics.
DeSantis, who barely squeaked away with his gubernatorial victory in 2018 by winning just 49.6% to Democrat opponent Andrew Gillum’s 49.2%, proceeded to preside over the state during the George Floyd riots, the Covid pandemic, and the intransigent LGTB push in public schools, which voters emphatically declared they supported by sending his 2022 bid to the moon.
Whereas he won by just .4% in 2018, DeSantis cruised to victory Tuesday night, utterly humiliating former governor and congressman Charlie Crist by a whopping 19% points. With over 90% of precincts reporting, DeSantis secured around 59% of the votes to Crists’ risibly paltry 40%. By night’s end, those figures could swing even further.
In his victory speech, DeSantis railed against the woke agenda, a fight that seems to have moved the needle more than anything. While his Covid policies got him national attention, what put the nail in the coffin was his stance against government schools indoctrinating kids as young as five into the woke agenda.
DeSantis: "We have embraced freedom. We have maintained law and order. We have protected the rights of parents. We have respected our taxpayers, and we reject woke ideology…We will never ever surrender to the woke mob. Florida is where woke goes to die!"pic.twitter.com/O59Og21fpd

We have embraced freedom. We have maintained law and order. We have protected the rights of parents. We have respected our taxpayers and we reject woke ideology we fight the woke in the legislature we fight the woke in the schools. We fake the woke in the corporations we will never ever surrender to the woke mob. Florida is where we’ll die.
Florida, which voted for Barack Obama in 2012 and has been a purple state for the past few decades, puts the period at the end of the sentence about its transition to a solid red outpost. DeSantis has paved the way with his playbook for defeating leftist Democrats.
