A recent, hearwarming turn from crime to Christ shows that the Lord God can use anything, even including a stolen guitar, to turn lives around and toward him and eternal salvation. That came when a guitar stolen from a Christian singer and sold for drug money led to the thief eventually getting baptized after he turned toward Chist.
That Christian singer is Sean Feucht. He announced over the summer that his prized 1967 Gallagher guitar had been stolen when a man who broke into his vehicle. One of Feucht’s friends later found the guitar at a pawn shop, where it had allegedly been sold for drug money by the thief, and bought it back.
And the story didn’t end there. Weeks later, Feucht took to Instagram to explain how what would have just been a depressing, ordinary story about crime and drugs turned into a heartwarming story about the varied paths to God and God’s grace.
In the post, Feucht first posted an attention-grabbing summary of what happened and why the story is important and should be reflected on, saying, “🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨 MAN WHO STOLE MY GUITAR GETS WRECKED BY GOD’S LOVE!!🙏🏽”
Continuing, Feucht explained the background to the story and how it came to be known that this individual was the one who stole the guitar, saying, “Dean was doing street ministry in when he ran into Zach who confessed to breaking into my car & stealing my guitar.”
Feucht then noted that the man eventually ended up asking for forgiveness from him after first repenting and getting right with God, saying, “He began showing videos of me leading worship & Zach began to repent & ask forgiveness (pic above)😭🙏🏽”
Feucht next noted that the story is a powerful one that only God could have come up with, writing, “ONLY GOD CAN WRITE A STORY LIKE THIS! He takes what the enemy meant for evil and turns it around! We are inviting Zack to @let.us.worship in Spokane next month to pray over him and celebrate God’s divine redemption. Pray that Zach surrenders His life to Jesus and story will be complete!!”
In another post, Fecht said, “THE GUY WHO STOLE MY GUITAR JUST GAVE HIS LIFE TO JESUS!!!! He’s getting baptized right now!! He’s came and surprised me in front of 7000 people! GOD WRITES THE BEST STORIES!!!” Captioning that post, Feucht said, “I AM SO SHOOK! God is soooooo good!!!!”
And, in yet another post on the matter, Feucht said, “JUST MONTHS AGO I TOLD @churchlead 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
‘Although I had to pay thousands of dollars to get my car fixed and buy the guitar back from a pawn shop, it will all be worth it if Zach surrenders his life to Jesus.’ WONT HE DO IT 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽”
Replying to that post, one commenter said, “Amen! Amazing story guys. I remember Shawn telling the story in Oceanside. Such a testimony. Now let’s have the community surround him, minister to him and disciple him through a recovery program. Immersion in a Spirit filled community/family to walk him through his growth in the Kingdom.”
