Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has taken the opposite path of many of the candidates on the recent Fox News GOP debate stage and came out unrepentantly and unreservedly in favor of former President Donald Trump, saying that she’s with him no matter what headed into the 2024 race and is proud to stand by him as he faces unremitting legal attacks.
Rep. Greene made that announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter, in a post about her plans for voting in the 2024 election and what she sees as being the impulse behind the investigations into the former president on the eve of the election.
In the post, she said, “I will still vote for Trump even if he’s in jail. This is a communist attack on America’s first amendment to vote for who THE PEOPLE want for President by an attempt to take Trump off the ballots through a politically weaponized DOJ. People know exactly what this is.”
That came alongside another tweet in which Rep. Greene blasted the Georgia DA behind Trump’s Fulton County arrest, saying, “Fani Willis has weaponized her office against President Trump for exercising his freedom of speech about the 2020 election. But that’s not what this is really about. This is about Democrats using their power to take down Joe Biden’s top political opponent.”

And, in yet another tweet on the subject of Trump’s arrest and the impulse behind it, she said, “My message to the press: This witch hunt by the Communist Democrats is election interference against Joe Biden’s top political opponent. President @realDonaldTrump is innocent and will be overwhelmingly re-elected in 2024!! #MAGA #Trump2024“
In another recent post, Rep. Greene replied to a tweet calling out an alleged attempt to remove former President Trump from the ballot in 2024. Rep. Greene said, “The left tried the same thing against me right before my primary in ‘22. I won and Trump will win! Expect more of this and worse before we ultimately WIN and put Pres Trump back in the White House in January of 2025. Stay the course!!”
That was in response to a tweet from Collin Rugg in which he said, “JUST IN: New Hampshire Secretary of State David Scanlan is considering a plan to remove Trump from the 2024 ballot under the 14th Amendment. They’re going to rig the 2024 election but this time they’re not even trying to hide it. The plan was introduced by Trump-endorsed attorney Bryant Messner, who ran for a state senate seat in 2020. The pair met on Friday to discuss the plan. ‘I really don’t view myself as turning on Trump, as odd as that sounds. I love this country. I’ve served this country. I’ve taken an oath to this country. My sons are serving right now and I believe someone’s got to step up to defend the Constitution.’ ‘Someone needs to take some action legally so this thing can get in front of the Supreme Court sooner rather than later to interpret this section.”’
