A new report claims that the prosecutor who was abruptly fired after announcing a new investigation into one of the main banks that helped Epstein run his massive sex-trafficking operation, JP Morgan Chase, was also pressured by the governor on Epstein’s behalf.
According to the report, the governor of the territory, Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. once contacted Attorney General Denise George one-on-one to ask her to grant convicted sex offender Epstein a waiver from travel restrictions.
The Epoch Times reported that claim, saying that Ms. George testified under oath that “[Mr. Bryan was] telling me that you know Jeffrey Epstein wants to have this waiver of the travel requirements, and that he said that his attorneys will be contacting me, and encouraged me to meet with the attorneys to consider it.”
Adding context as to why a requirements waiver was necessary, The Epoch Times added, “A Virgin Islands law enacted in 2012 imposed requirements for sex offenders but gave the attorney general the discretion to reduce or waive the requirements for certain reasons, including if a sex offender frequently travels outside of the Virgin Islands for business.”
In any case, Ms. George then went on to testify that she reviewed the Virgin Islands’ Department of Justice’s files on Mr. Epstein and found that there was nothing in there showing that Mr. Epstein should have the restrictions waived or relaxed.
Then, she came to the conclusion that she was being pressured to waive the restrictions on Epstein not because he was deserving but because he had been pressuring the governor. Speaking about that, Ms. George said she “realized there was some political maneuvering that [Mr. Epstein] was doing.”
Continuing, she added, “That by itself indicated to me that he was flexing his political influence over or with the governor in an effort to get a favorable result in what I considered to be definitely a law enforcement issue by the attorney general.“
Ms. George then reportedly said that she decided to stand for what she thinks is right rather than what the politically connected pervert and his friend, the governor, were pushing for, saying, “I am always determined to stand for what it is that I believe is right brd on my position as to having [to] make law enforcement decisions. And I make them irrespective of anything as far as who the people are or whatever political influence or power they may have. And maybe that might have been the first time that he might have been faced with that.”
In the lawsuit that Ms. George filed against JP Morgan Chase before she was fired, she claimed, “Human trafficking was the principal business of the accounts Epstein maintained at JP Morgan. JP Morgan turned a blind eye to evidence of human trafficking over more than a decade because of Epstein’s own financial footprint, and because of the deals and clients that Epstein brought and promised to bring to the bank.”
