New York Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman recently gave an interview where he called for an end to the GOP probe of the Biden family. Goldman denied evidence that has recently surfaced against the Bidens and claimed the investigation needed to be ended immediately.
The New York Democrat appeared on CNN where he told Anderson Cooper, “This investigation, Anderson, needs to end and it needs to end now because what we’re doing is badgering a private citizen, and there’s no legitimate legislative purpose at all.”
According to Goldman, the former Hunter Biden business associate Devon Archer told lawmakers he was unaware of a $5 million payment to the Bidens. Goldman, who supported the previous impeachment efforts of Donald Trump, claimed that this situation was the “political arm” of Former President Trump. “This is the taxpayer-funded defense and political arm of Donald Trump,” Goldman,” said.
Goldman continued to discuss Hunter Biden’s plea deal that was frozen by a judge recently, stating, “The fact that a three-committee congressional investigation is looking into the plea deal of a private citizen.” Goldman then insinuated Republicans are abusing taxpayer dollars in this investigation, seemingly forgetting the millions of dollars and years the federal government spent investigating supposed Russian ties to President Trump.
“By the way, a plea deal that was entered into by a Trump-appointed U.S. attorney who President Biden kept on to ensure the independence of the investigation, that they would now actually use taxpayer funds in order to investigate a plea deal is absolutely preposterous and just demonstrates how far afield this Republican Party is from the American people and what they care about,” Goldman claimed. However, the American Tribune recently reported on claims made by Jonathan Turley, a Fox News contributor and prominent attorney. Turley alleged that Goldman “tripped the wire” recently when discussing allegations made against the Biden family.
Turley said that Hunter Biden would often put then-Vice President Joe Biden on speakerphone during discussions with business associates. Although, Goldman maintains that the discussions were purely about innocuous topics such as the weather. According to Turley’s analysis, Goldman’s comments raised eyebrows.
“It’s really amazing to watch the extent in which people like Representative Goldman will just refuse to recognize any evidence. You could have a picture of President Biden actually burying mountains of gold and they would say that he was simply doing gardening. So you know, we have to get beyond that and just keep our eye on what the evidence is, and the evidence is increasingly damning,” Turley said.
Turley suggested that Goldman’s comments destroyed President Biden’s defense by essentially admitting that Biden was present for business dealings. “Goldman himself tripped the wire when he tried to question whistleblowers in the last hearing and he ended up demolishing the president’s defense. Goldman got the whistleblowers to say ‘yeah, the president did speak to his son about his business dealings’… we have numerous witnesses and events where then Vice President Biden and now President Biden was involved. And you have witnesses, like Tony Bobulinski who said he sat down to discuss deals with Joe Biden,” he said.
