Morgan Wallen is the biggest artist on the planet, not named Taylor Swift. In fact, it could be argued that Wallen and Swift are side by side in popularity. Despite the left’s attempt to cancel Wallen a couple of years ago for uttering the dreaded “n” word at one of his white friends after a drunken night on Lower Broadway, he has rebounded nicely and is the biggest thing in country music right now.
In 2021 when Wallen made his unfortunate slip-up, the left thought they had a “gotcha” moment. Despite the singer never tipping his hand as to his political affiliation, if he even has one, since he sings country music and has a mullet, liberals naturally assumed he is a conservative.
What the left wasn’t ready for was Wallen’s conservative fanbase. After being dropped as a supporting touring act, and having his recording contract suspended by Big Loud Records, CMT and I Heart Radio followed suit and suspended his music from the airwaves.
Wallen had just dropped his first double album, “Dangerous,” and it was number one on the charts when Music City turned on their hometown boy. As leftist wolves like Kelsea Ballerini and black artist Mickey Guyton clutched pearls and spat venom as if Wallen had been sighted at a Clan rally, the people who actually matter, the fans, said ‘enough.’
Wallen’s record sales spiked in the aftermath, in one of the first examples of conservative money making a difference. Since money is the name of the game, CMT, I Heart Radio, and his record label course-corrected and grudgingly accepted Wallen back into polite company.
Now two years later, Morgan Wallen is an unstoppable force of nature. His hit “Last Night” has topped the charts for almost five months, and his new album “One Thing at a Time” is a 36-song banger that could potentially land a dozen or more chart toppers. The dude is on a hot streak, to say the least.
Hot or not, that doesn’t mean haters aren’t going to hate, particularly leftists. Since hating conservative values and spoiling anything fun is the calling card of the liberal, social media was ablaze with acrimony after Wallen performed two shows in Pheonix, Arizona, wearing the Arizona Cardinal jersey of former NFL star and fallen hero Pat Tillman.
It should be recalled that Tillman courageously walked away from the NFL and a new, lucrative contract to fight in the Middle East following the 911 attacks on New York City. He died in Afghanistan in 2004 from friendly fire, but his sacrifice and courage have cemented his status as a national hero.
After seeing Wallen in the Tillman jersey, Twitter warriors, most of whom likely aren’t old enough to even remember Tillman yet pretend to know what he would think, took to the platform to rip Wallen.
Some of the hateful comments are as follows:
“I love when conservatives do this because Pat Tillman would have fucking despised them.”
“Pat Tillman would have hated this loser.”
“This guy keep piling up L’s. Gotta respect the commitment.”
“David Duke representing Colin Kaepernick tonight!”
Of course, most of this smacks at jealousy and envy from people that likely haven’t an ounce of talent themselves, so their self-loathing manifests itself at easy targets. A country mega-star with a Pat Tillman jersey on is an easy target when trying to attain street cred from the far left.
Whatever Wallen’s motivation, it is clear that he keeps stacking W’s rather than L’s, and despite the best efforts from the left, is more popular than ever. It helps that he, by all reports, is a nice guy, and his music is rather catchy.
Meanwhile, leftists can rage on Twitter and put words in Pat Tillman’s mouth all they want, Morgan Wallen isn’t going away, and his tribute to Tillman was fitting and touching.
