Sen. Rand Paul, the constant enemy of the Nationa Institutes of Health’s Anthony Fauci, has just used newly-released emails to show that Dr. Fauci lied to Congress when he told the Senate that the NIH never funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and to refer him to the DOJ for prosecution over that lie to Congress.
The newly released emails are from 2020. They show that, at that date, Dr. Fauci admitted that scientists at Wuhan University were working on gain of function experiments. However, in July of 2021, he told a Senate committee in a hearing that the National Institutes of Health “has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”
The allegedly incriminating emails show that Fauci was on a call with other scientists who were later involved in the Covid response, such as Francis Collins, and they were “concerned about the fact that upon viewing the sequences of several isolates of the nCoV, there were mutations in the virus that would be most unusual to have evolved naturally in the bats and that there was a suspicion that this mutation was inserted.”
Fauci admitted that “The suspicion was heightened by the fact that scientists in Wuhan University are known to have been working on gain-of-function experiments to determine the molecular mechanisms associated with bat viruses adapting to human infection, and the outbreak originated in Wuhan.”
🚨BREAKING🚨
New emails reveal that Dr. Fauci was aware of risky gain-of-function research occurring in Wuhan, China prior to the emergence of COVID-19.

Sen. Rand Paul, commenting on the situation and Fauci’s emails, said, “This is when they’re just beginning to look into the pandemic. And in that email, he basically says, ‘Yes, we’re suspicious that this could be a manipulated virus because it came from a lab in Wuhan, where they do gain of function research,’ and he describes the research.”
Continuing, he noted that the content of those emails shows that what Fauci knew to be true was the opposite of what he told the Senate committee, saying, “Well, this directly contradicts everything he said in committee hearing to me, denying absolutely that they funded any gain of function, and it’s absolutely a lie.”
So, Sen. Paul said, “That’s why we ended up referring him again this week to the Department of Justice, for prosecution for lying to Congress.”
Sen. Paul also added that Fauci is attempting to get out of trouble by defining away the lie, saying, “They have tried to define away the problem. The other thing they’ve tried to say is that it only counts as gain of function research if it’s a human virus.”
When describing what sparked the email exchange and what people were worried about shortly before the pandemic began in the US, Sen. Paul said, “These virologists from around the world are saying, they’re looking at the genetic sequence of COVID-19, and they find that there are some striking, strikingly unusual characteristics of it that make it look like it’s been manipulated in the lab. And this band of close virologists that are his close buddies–and these are all people who have been proponents previously of gain of function research, creating viruses that don’t occur in nature to experimentation — they all tell him it looks manipulative.”
