Ice Cube wears many hats. Besides being one of the founding members of the groundbreaking rap group NWA, he is also a writer, producer, actor, and platinum-selling solo artist. Ice Cube, whose real name is O’Shea Jackson Sr., is also one of the most recent Hollywood types to openly reject the leftist agenda that the media and Democrats so aggressively push.
It’s a stunning reversal of course for the “Arrest the President” rapper. As recently as 2018, Cube was buying into everything the hard left was selling. His album “Everythang’s Corrupt” was a scathing critique of President Donald Trump’s administration.
Now, a scant five years later, Ice Cube has had an awakening, and he isn’t being quiet about it. The rapper recently spoke about numerous topics, including artificial intelligence. He is not a fan: “I think it’s wack. I think it’s the worst shit ever. I think it’s gonna put a lot of people out of business and out of work. Everything is gonna be more vanilla. It’s not gonna be more creative. It’s actually gonna go the other way.”
Cube is, of course, talking about the inevitable use of artificial intelligence to make music. There are already fans and industry insiders that are concerned with the growing use of backing tracks and computers in live music.
The use of tracks and computers may be actually beneficial to some artists, especially solo artists that don’t perform with a band, but the fear with AI is the same concern with mixers and tracks; the music loses its spirit and soul.
Ice Cube continued: “People are gonna get lazier. Nobody’s gonna work hard and nobody’s gonna attain the knowledge so they can write it down. They’re just gonna ask for the knowledge. People are just gonna get stupider.”
Cube correctly points out what is evident; we have raised a generation of adults that rely too heavily on technology. There are millions of young adults that can’t read a map and, in some cases, don’t even know the phone numbers that are stored in their contacts. I the grid was ever to go down, it would be mass chaos.
Since AI is an inevitability, many in the entertainment industry and others will likely lose their jobs. The cost savings from using AI are huge, and at the end of the day, it is about money. We are already seeing the early fallout of AI with the ongoing writer’s strike.
Ice Cube talks about what must happen for people to adapt and survive: “Look. When they invented the light bulb, the candle maker had to figure out how to make money. So they started making candles that smell like all kinds of stuff to make money. So, adapt. Adapt or die. And that’s just it.”
If that sounds overly simplistic, it should. Humans are the most adaptable species on the planet. It is debatable how adaptable the younger generation is, but we are sure to find out.
Ice Cube, who has recently been “red-pilled,” went on to talk about his new tour, “Fuck the Gatekeepers,” and his message for the radical left: “Some of you may not have realized that I’m not part of ‘The Club. And a lot of you listening to me right now, you’re not part of ‘The Club’ either. And what I’ve realized with ‘The Club’ is what makes them so mad is when you don’t wanna be a part of their fucking club. That pisses them off. What club am I talking about? I’m talking about the club of gatekeepers that we all got to deal with. You know who they are and they definitely know who they are.”
Ice Cube joins a growing number of celebrities, politicians, athletes, and regular people that have seen the direction the left is taking the country and have had enough. Cube has a large audience, and his message is important. Hopefully, people will listen to him.
