What’s one to do if you catch a pedophile molesting your child? In Texas, the answer apparently is “hold him at gunpoint.” Sounds like the merciful answer.
In any case, that’s what happened in 2019 when Ivan Alejandro Robles, who is now 41, was caught molesting a 13-year-old back in January of 2019.
Rather than just scream and yell, which probably would have let him get away, Robles was held at gunpoint by the child’s mother, which kept him from running away so the cops could arrest him. As Newsweek reports:
Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office prosecutors said Ramos was held at gunpoint by the 13-year-old girl’s mother on January 5, 2019.
She had found Robles sexually assaulting her daughter, telephoned emergency services and told the operator she was going to shoot him.
But that happened back in 2019. Why’s it being reported on now? Because Robles was just found guilty and the testimony that came out during the trial was horrifying beyond belief.
Apparently, Robles the sick pedo started abusing the girl when she was a wee five years old, subjecting her to “depraved” punishments if she refused to perform the sexual acts he wanted. The abuse was so severe that she was contemplating suicide when just 10 years old.
Her testimony on that harrowing experience was so horrifying that, after the trial, District Attorney Jessica Ramos said:
“Anyone that listened to the victim’s testimony was left emotionally shaken. I asked the victim how she felt after bravely confronting her abuser in court. She said she felt free. You could see the burden lift off her young shoulders. I could not be more proud of her for the courage she displayed during her testimony.”
District Attorney Brian Middleton gave a statement on the subject too, saying:
“The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office works tirelessly to protect vulnerable members in our community which most often includes women and children. We zealously and relentlessly pursue justice for victims of abuse. We will seek the harshest punishment for child predators just as we did in this case.
“Unfortunately, we cannot undo the harm that was done to this child, but we can ensure she never has to fear that this defendant will ever harm her again. The judge’s imposition of a life sentence was just and a result of a mother’s fierce love for her child, the courage of the child to face the defendant, and the hard work of law enforcement. Justice has indeed been served.”
While it’s certainly good news that Robles was found guilty and locked up, it’s horrifying that he was able to abuse the girl for nearly a decade and whatever punishment he ultimately receives for those crimes, even if it is of the “prison justice” type that tends to be exacted by prisoners on pedos, will be too light.
But, at the very least, at least he was locked up rather than let off, as might have been the case if a judge like Kentanji Jackson were hearing the case.
