Breaking news in the crime department says disgraced former United States Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar was involved in a horrific prison incident that turned ghastly. The report on Yahoo News says Nassar was stabbed multiple times when another inmate attacked him in the United States Penitentiary Coleman located in Florida.
The crime news article on Yahoo News stated their information came from The Associated Press, which relied on ‘sources’ who said what happened. According to the sources, Nassar was stabbed in the chest and back multiple times, but it remains unclear how badly he was stabbed and how extensive the injuries truly are. Nassar was stabbed several times by another inmate but is reportedly in stable condition, according to the report.
In January 2018, Nassar was found guilty of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with children under the age of 16 after he pleaded guilty to seven counts of it. Nassar was sentenced to prison for a term of 40 to 175 years. Nassar was found guilty of both federal and state charges related to sexually assaulting the young girls who were part of the famous USA gymnastics team in the years before his trial.
But that wasn’t all Nassar was serving prison time for. Besides the first-degree sexual conduct charges with children that landed him in prison for 40-175 years in prison, Nassar had already been served with a 60-year prison sentence on other horrific crimes. Nassar was found guilty of child p-rnography and overall is serving hundreds of years in prison.
An article on Bleacher Report said there were over 150+ people involving people who accused him and family members who spoke on behalf of the victims and against Nassar during his sentencing. Two reporters, named Madison Park and Eric Levenson, reported on the crimes and said Nassar used his status to give him leverage to assault women over the course of TWO DECADES.
Nassar’s arrest finally happened in 2016 when a victim finally spoke out about her experience with Nassar, which led to his arrest and the discovery of child p-rn. But Nassar didn’t stop there. According to a report on PBS, he tried to appeal some charges in the future and lost. Nassar’s legal team had the nerve to say he was treated ‘unfairly’ back in 2018 and thought that he deserved a new hearing.
Nassar’s legal team based this on a judge’s ‘vengeful remarks’ when the judge called Nassar a “monster” who would eventually die in prison. A judge also said, about Nassar’s 40-year sentence: “I just signed your death warrant.” That was Ingham County Judge Rosemarie Aquilina; considering Nassar’s age at the time, that was likely a true statement if Nassar remained in prison for 40 years. He’s 59 now, so it was completely possible, although not guaranteed.
However, Nassar lost his last appeal, and that was a wrap. A judge’s behavior could result in an appeal, but it did not work out in Nassar’s favor, and his sentencing remained intact. Now he’s been stabbed in prison by another inmate, and the women he assaulted may feel a sense of calm, but time will tell if the victims of Larry Nassar speak out about the prison shank incident. Most of the top sports blogs have covered this, but it’s not a fun subject to read about.
Here was the moment Nassar spoke to the judge with a message conveying regret for his actions:
