Mark Mulder made an excellent name for himself during his career as a baseball player and now continues to impress by speaking out against the constant media cancellation attempts against athletes deemed anti-woke. In a recent interview, Mulder gave his opinion about stars like Curt Schilling and Aaron Rodgers, both of whom have seen their names dragged through the mud after disagreeing with popular media narratives.
Speaking to Mike Gunz Gunzelman, who works with Outkick Sports, Mulder began his piece by pointing out this constant desire from the media to hate star athletes that they dislike for political reasons. “Whether Barry Bonds did steroids or not,” said Mulder, “he’s still one of the greatest players in the game. It’s like the media makes people out to be the worst. Other guys that maybe did it – ‘we love him, he was really nice to us!’ ‘But this guy? He was a d*** to us, so we don’t like him.”
The same argument could be made about Major League Baseball legend Curt Schilling, and Mulder pointed that out in the next sentence. He said, “They just pick and choose who they want to leave out. Is he a Hall of Famer? Absolutely! But guess what – they don’t like Curt… [so] they are just going to punish him.”
This media bias is made even more apparent when one realizes that Curt Schilling had a better career than many starting pitchers who have been inducted into Cooperstown.
Schilling certainly has rubbed liberal media members the wrong way many times, but maybe none more than when he went on an epic Twitter rant regarding Brittney Griner‘s Russian imprisonment. “I know this may seem like a stretch,” Schilling said in response to a LeBron James Tweet. “But something like 300 million people understand “OBEY THE F***ING LAW”, why is that such a challenge? And why on earth should she NOT pay the penalty for breaking another country’s laws?”
Regarding Aaron Rodgers, who reportedly lost MVP Votes in the NFL due to his Covid stance, Mulder said the following. “It’s like ‘oh, okay.’ So now in order for us to be really considered for the Hall of Fame, I not only have to have a great career but I also have to really not say something that offends anyone. You can’t believe in something and if you believe in something that someone else doesn’t, the response is ‘Well, we don’t like him anymore.’”
This constant virtue signaling from journalists who have continuously conflated athletic skills with political opinions has finally started receiving massive pushback from major players in sports. Between Mulder, Schilling, and Rodgers, there are three elite-level athletes who are no longer sitting idly by as sports media members try to ram their politics down the throats of unwanting fans.
