Former Democrat darling and presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard has been making a splash in Republican circles. And not just any old Republicans, but MAGA Republicans. Liz Cheney wants Nancy Pelosi to remain Speaker of the House in 2024, Gabbard wants MAGA Republicans to win important seats, and nothing makes sense anymore in 2022. I love it.
After defecting from the “elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness” – aka the Democratic Party – Gabbard has taken her classic liberal values and attached to the growing populist movement kicked into high gear by former president Donald Trump in 2016.
Here was Gabbard a month ago announcing her departure from the irredeemable racists and dividers:
I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue & stoke anti-white racism, actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms, are… pic.twitter.com/oAuTnxZldf

Since this video, Gabbard’s name has been often cited as a potential running mate for any number of Republicans in the 2024 presidential contest. Though it’s premature, at this point I’d take someone who was a Democrat five minutes ago with her surname over countless lifelong Republicans from the D.C. uniparty.
Along with being name-dropped for veep, Gabbard has done a marvelous job stumping for real conservative politicians. She went to Arizona and spoke at a Kari Lake rally, an event which also featured the Trump-backed, libertarian-backed Blake Masters.
Gabbard also threw her support behind Don Bolduc, the Republican candidate for New Hampshire’s Senate seat as he faces off against entrenched Democrat Maggie Hassan.
And it just keeps getting better. Gabbard has produced videos and made appearances for everyone from South Dakota governor Kristi Noem, Ohio Senate candidate J.D. Vance, Michigan congressional candidate Tom Barrett (who faces off against Liz Cheney-backed Elizabeth Slotkin in what must be one of the first times big names from both parties have crossed the aisle to support the other candidate). She has even lent her support to Nevada’s Senate candidate Adam LAxalt.
Gabbard has been busy.
Here she is supporting Kristi Noem:
I’m Tulsi Gabbard, and Kristi Noem is a friend of mine. We believe in defending freedom and protecting what makes this country so special. Kristi loves South Dakota and fights against extreme policies that Jamie Smith supports, like raising taxes, mandating vaccines, and taking away your gun rights.
And here she is supporting J.D. Vance:

Tim Ryan represents everything that is wrong with the warmongering Washington Establishment. I’m endorsing @JDVance1 because he knows the cost of war, and that our government exists to serve the people, not the other way around.
And here was Laxalt’s response to Gabbard showing up to a rally in an effort to unseat another Biden rubber stamp in the Senate:
Las Vegas turned out tonight!
Thank you @TulsiGabbard for walking away from the radical left, cancel culture, & censorship & standing for the Constitution, freedom, & our country.
The message is loud and clear: Nevadans of ALL political backgrounds are ready for change. pic.twitter.com/Oj5CuIExWa

The takeaway, as always, is that Donald Trump’s presidency didn’t create divisions in American politics. Rather, he revealed them. When the establishment came out against him – Democrat and Republican alike – he woke up voters to the true corruption in the swamp. That paved the way for Ron DeSantis, Kari Lake, Tulsi Gabbard, and others. This red wave is going to be historic.
