Bill Maher has made it his common practice in recent years to fight back against the woke mob that tries to control his thoughts, words, and show. The host of “Real Time with Bill Maher” pulled no punches in a podcast recently where he talked about former fans who left him after Maher decided to push back against wild leftist ideals.
Speaking on the “Club Random” podcast with Jon Hamm Maher admonished the faction of “super woke” former fans that left his show in recent years. “I’ve lost a fair number of this…what I would call super woke, and it’s good,” said Maher. “Don’t let the door hit you in the ass. You’re no fun to begin with. You have a terrible sense of humor.”
Jon Hamm also spent a moment laughing at the woke cancel culture and how it nearly destroys itself every couple of months. “You’re shooting yourself in the foot and then wondering why you walk with a limp,” Hamm joked.
Maher has experienced one of the greatest heel turns in tv history, changing from being a staunch supporter of the far left to a much more centrist show host. Along with him, fans of the “Real Time with Bill Maher” show have been exposed to more conservative ideologies and realized that it was time they side with facts and logic.
In April, The American Tribune wrote about Maher’s hilarious decision to host the “Cojones Awards,” which are awarded to public figures who stand up against the woke mob. Finally, that difficult task was being rewarded in a public way.
He talked about the inception of the idea, saying, “I suggested since we were mostly all in show business that we start at an award show to honor the brave people who have fought back. The idea was met with great enthusiasm by everyone and in short order, different people were suggesting the ways that they’re very challenged to be put to use.”
Of course, it took one final push from Maher to get across the finish line with the production of the “Cajones Awards,” as many of his fellow conspirators fell afraid of Hollywood’s most dogmatic residents. Among the awards, Maher awarded one to Hollywood Star Ben Still, who Tweeted the following with respect his role in “Tropic Thunder.” “I make no apologies for Tropic Thunder. Don’t know who told you that. It’s always been a controversial movie since when we opened. Proud of it and the work everyone did on it.”

Another award, among others, was won by Cornell University president Martha Pollack, who denied putting trigger warnings alongside course descriptions. Maher proclaimed, “She didn’t cave in or hire a new dean of sensitivity, she just said, ‘No. College is for introducing you to new ideas, not for kissing your ass and making you feel wonderful and always right.‘”
