Fox News could take another hit after a big name announced his departure from ‘The Five.’ Geraldo Rivera stated on Twitter that his last appearances on ‘The Five’ will be in the next few weeks. The constantly criticized host may or may not be missed, but it shows a little bit of instability for Fox News weeks after they parted ways with ratings beast Tucker Carlson who’s been releasing Tucker on Twitter episodes independently.
Geraldo Rivera’s Twitter post said the following “Morning, it’s official, I’m off @TheFive. My last scheduled show appearances are Thursday and Friday June 29th and 30th. It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity. Being odd man out isn’t always easy. For the time being, I’m still Correspondent at Large.“
One of Geraldo Rivera’s recent appearances on Fox News, a few weeks ago, had him talking about the ‘crisis’ going on in cities like New York and Rivera suggested handouts like expedited work permits, bypassing ‘red tape’. That sparked instant backlash under the suggestion that giving handouts would incentivize more people to flood the border.
Rivera often clashed with the more Conservative hosts on ‘The Five’ which was essentially his purpose during his time on the show. Rivera’s commentary lead to plenty of criticism from fans of ‘The Five’ as the more right-wing audience had a lot to say about him, as noted in some of the Twitter posts below.
Geraldo Rivera received a mix of replies to his Twitter post announcing his departure. User ‘pc6tex9’ had an interesting comment about Geraldo Rivera, calling him a “wind sock” as quoted: “Being Odd Man Out”. That’s your path you chose. You flop back and forth more than a fish out of water. But always end up on the left. You are a wind sock, whichever way the wind blows in the benefit of your narrative, that’s the way you go. You won’t be missed!”
It may be watchable now!

Being the odd man out is a weird way of saying devoted partisan communist hack.

Geraldo, I didn’t agree with a lot of what you said, but I always thought you came at every subject with heart. You spoke the truth about what you believed. You were never deceptive. I have respect for that.

They would be wise to have Harold Ford Jr. on more often. He’s levelheaded in his views. He’s the only rotating guest for the left side, who is willing to view all sides fairly & objectively. The hosts for the right side could learn something from him. I don’t watch Fox anymore.

No worries. Fox lost most of their audience the day they fired @TuckerCarlson
