Former President Donald Trump was just indicted on 37 counts stemming from Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into Trump’s handling of classified information found in Mar-a-Lago during an unprecedented FBI raid on his residence. So, we know how Trump feels about the situation, but how does Melania feel about it? Trump says she is “hurt when the family’s hurt,” but is not necessarily worried about the situation.
Such is what he told Roger Stone during a recent WABC radio interview. His remarks on the topic began when Stone said people had write in to ask about how Melania is holding up given the dark clouds rapidly rolling across the political horizon. “A lot of people texted me about this and emailed me in preparation for the show. People want to know how she’s doing, how she feels about your 2024 campaign to regain the White House, and how she’s holding up during these outrageous, unfair politically motivated attacks on you,” Mr. Stone asked.
Responding, the former president started off with remarks sure to please his wife, complimenting her success and beauty. “She’s a terrific person. She’s a very beautiful person. As you know, she made a tremendous amount of money when she was very successful as a model,” former President Trump said.
He then noted that she’s pretty confident as a person, so she’s not overly worried and “doesn’t care that much,” an attitude about the general situation that Trump called “amazing.” He said, “And in a very low-key way, she doesn’t care that much. She’s got an attitude that’s amazing. She’s got a tremendous heart. But she takes things for what they are and she’s just a very confident person. She doesn’t need things like some people, they’re always pushing themselves out there – she’s the opposite.”
He did add, however, that Melania is hurt when her family is under attack and hurts, saying, “How does she take it? She’s hurt when the family’s hurt.” So, Melania is upset that her husband is under attack but not necessarily weeping with worry over the situation.
Trump added that his supporters love Melania, noting that one thing the crowd things to like is that she “does not push herself out there,” meaning that she’s not a striver trying to use her position to build her personal brand or self-publicize but rather just a nice, beautiful woman doing what she enjoys, which is what people respect about her. “I noticed signs all over the room: ‘We love our first lady, we love our first lady.’ Pictures of Melania all over the place. People love her. They love the fact that she does not push herself out there. And she’s respected by everybody,” Trump said.
Melania did not attend the Miami indictment on Tuesday, June 13. Instead, she appeared to be running errands and spending time with most of the Trump children in New York City. She was spotted running errands on Monday the 12th.
