Team Biden and the government have gone all in on “Pride” month, with the capstone of that effort being the rainbow flag hanging between two American flags in front of the White House on June 10th. Joining them the NSA, which just sent out an email on “Pride” at the NSA.
In the email, obtained by Louder with Crowder, the NSA Recruitment Team highlighted the DEI efforts at the security apparatus and championed its efforts at inclusion of “LGBTQIA+” people.
Beginning, the email told those who had applied to work at the NSA to be patient and then went on to introduce the topic of the email, DEI, saying, “If you’ve applied to an NSA career opportunity within the past 9 months, you have likely received a note or two from us. We appreciate your patience as we work to bring efficiencies and enhancements to communications system to keep our candidates informed. In the meantime, we wanted to share a message from our team highlighting diversity. equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) efforts at NSA.”
Continuing, the NSA email tried to connection national security with having people from “a wide variety of backgrounds” in the building, as if being able to hack an adversary is related to one’s sexual preferences or skin color. That part said, “To effectively accomplish our mission to defend our nation and protect our future, NSA relies on a workforce composed of a variety of backgrounds, including race, culture, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, and ability.”
Continuing, the email went on to define “the essence of diversity and inclusion,” continuing to act like diversity, rather than supercomputers and genius IT personnel, is what makes the agency so successful in its intelligence efforts. “This is the essence of diversity and inclusion: seeking out those who are different from ourselves and leveraging their unique perspectives to enhance our own understanding. At NSA, we enrich ourselves and our mission by working together, not in spite of differences, but because of them,” the email said.
Getting to brass tacks, the email went on to highlight an individual within the NSA who is “LGBTQIA+” and highlight the resources it has spent on making the diversity and inclusion crowd happy, namely “employee resource groups” within the NSA. “One of the driving forces behind promoting our DEIA efforts are the agency’s 11 employee resource groups (ERGs). When our colleague Heidi started at NSA. she found a community she could connect with in our Pride ERG- and a place where she could make a difference. She’s gone on to advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community at NSA by leading trainings on topics like allyship and intersectionality,” it said.
Left unsaid was whether the time, money, and effort spent on those activities was spent wisely in comparison with what it could have gotten in terms of equipment or the best hacking and cybersecurity minds.
The NSA email came alongside a government blitz in favor of the “LGBTQIA+” agenda. On the day the rainbow flag flew in front of the White House, the White House also hosted a Pride celebration during which Dr. Jill attacked the right for being against transing the kids, accusing them of wanting to “drag our country backwards.”
Similarly, President Biden also gave a speech in which he claimed that his father was, at the time he was a young kid and homosexuality was still very illegal, completely comfortable with it. In that part of his speech, he said, “Wilmington, Delaware, is the corporate capital of the world. It was anyway. And, but all kidding aside, there’s a place called Rodney Square. And the DuPont Building was there. The Hercules building was there — all these major corporations. And I was getting out of the car to go into the — in the city hall. And there were these two well-dressed men standing on a corner. The light changed. They kissed each other and went in different directions. One went to the DuPont Building; one went to the Hercules building. And I had never seen that before. I looked at my dad. He looked back at me. He said, ‘It’s simple. They love each other. It’s simple.’ And to me, it’s that simple. It’s that straightforward.”
