Actor Johnny Depp, a true legend when it comes to creating unique and memorable characters by adding his own flare for the weird, the strange, and the surreal, could easily slip a cool $20 million in his back pocket by signing on to play the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow from “The Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise, as Disney is practically on their hands and knees after a serious of blockbuster films failed to perform at levels the studio believed they would.
However, after everything the actor went through with the defamation trial concerning his former love interest Amber Heard, where Disney and many other major studios sided with the actress over Depp, he’s simply not interested.
According to Louder With Crowder, Heard leveled abuse allegations at Johnny Depp, and, according to many, due to her being a woman during the #MeToo era, she was automatically assumed to be telling the truth. However, as it turns out, Depp was not guilty of abuse. At the time, Depp was still attached to Disney’s “Pirates” franchise.
The defamation trial brought about by Depp ended with a $15 million settlement to be paid to the actor by Heard. Through the proceedings we discovered that Heard was guilty of abuse against Depp. She allegedly left poop in the couple’s bed. Yes, you read that correctly. Poop.
It’s not just Disney that Depp has had enough of. During an appearance he made at the Cannes Film Festival, the actor said, “You wanna live that kind of life, I wish you the best. But I’ll be on the other side.”
Friends of Depp recently came out and spoke with the Daily Mail where they stated in no uncertain terms that he is not interested in working with Disney again.
“They blind dropped him even though Amber had lied her a** off,” one such friend revealed.
Depp has more or less stated that there’s no price tag worth it for him to come back and work for the Mouse House, which is astounding. The current failed content that the company has suffered through is somewhere in the $2 billion range.
