A Florida police officer, along with a pregnant woman, were both charged with battery after they decided to team up and deliver a massive beat down on a man they discovered was dating them both, according to a report from Fox News.
Anna Elicia Perez, 34, who serves as a police officer in Miami-Dade, along with Mila Zuloaga, 35, who is seven months pregnant, found out that they were in a relationship with the same guy according to Fox News Digital who obtained an arrest affidavit for the pair of ladies.
The two women, understandably angry after having made this discovery, arrived at an establishment called Miller’s Ale House located in Palmetto Bay, which is roughly 15 miles south of the city of Miami, on May 26 at 12:43 a.m. where they confronted the man who had been two-timing them. And that’s when things got a little rowdy.
“The defendant and co-defendant were involved in a verbal dispute with the victim regarding infidelity,” the complaint goes on to say.
The verbal fisticuffs got physical real quick.
“[They] struck the victim on the face and upper body with their hands multiple times,” the police report revealed. “The victim sustained redness to the face and a small bruise to the lower lip.”
Both ladies were taken into custody by local law enforcement and charged with a count each of battery, according to authorities. Perez was taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, and Zuloaga was processed and then transported to the Special Victim’s Bureau at the Miami-Dade Police Department.
Zuloaga currently lives with the victim of the assault and is carrying his child, while Perez was under the belief she was in a monogamous relationship with him. As of this writing the man’s name has not been released. The police also did not clarify how the two women found out about the cheating beau.
Perez has been suspended from her position with Miami-Dade police, with pay, until the investigation has been completed, a spokesperson representing the department said in a statement to Fox News Digital. An issue concerning the situation was released by Miami-Dade Police Director Freddy Ramirez.
“I am disappointed by this officer’s actions. We are held to a higher standard of conduct on and off duty,” the director stated on Monday. “Although this officer was off duty, her behavior was unacceptable, and it goes against the core values of our department. We will work closely with the State Attorney’s Office and ensure a thorough and transparent investigation.”
The attorney who is representing Perez had not immediately returned a request for comment made by Fox, nor could the lawyer who is representing Zuloaga be identified.
