A female fan was booted from a recent Zach Bryan concert in Albany, New York after she attempted to steal Bryan’s guitar out of his hands on stage. Zach Bryan made it a point to explain to fans exactly what happened and to ensure that not other fan gets the same ideas.
While Bryan was making his way through the crowd, he can be heard telling his security team to “get her out of here” after the woman apparently made an attempt to snag his J-45 guitar.

Bryan then took to Twitter to explain that even though his generosity towards fans goes a long way, there are certain items that are off-limits. He said, “”I give J-45’s out at a lot of concerts. The one in my hands when this happened was mine, my sweet ol’ gal, we’ve been everywhere together and written every song in the last few years together.”
Sentimental value aside, the feeling of walking through a crowd while a hand tried to pull you back and take your belongings could illicit some panic in even the most seasoned performers. Bryan, 27, said that he “took it personal,” but also noted that he holds “nothing against whoever wound up getting kicked out.”

In yet another Tweet about the incident, Bryan clarified that he has no problem with fans trying to touch him for the instrument that he plays. But trying to take the guitar crossed a line that he was not comfortable with. Bryan made it clear that any other similar incidents will end the same way, with the fan being escorted out of the concert venue. He said, “I don’t mind people being respectful and trying to touch me or the guitar, but if you try to rip it out of my hands I promise I’ll rip you out of whatever venue we’re at, respectfully, of course.”

In the comments section, Bryan’s fans were quick to voice their support for the star and say that they would have done the same thing. Others found this as a sign that society is beginning to lose touch with what is and is not appropriate in regard to conduct with celebrities. One thoughtful fan wrote, “I feel we as a society have gotten a little too comfortable with this kind of behavior. There is a little thing called boundaries and being respectful to people. People already deal with many things, especially artists and other public figures.”
All in all, it seems that the internet has fallen firmly on Zach Bryan’s side in this debacle. If he feels uncomfortable with the woman grabbing at his belongings then the consensus seems to be that he is well within his right to boot her from this performance. The woman who was asked to leave may feel different, but Bryan seems sure that he would make the same decision again if facing the same circumstances.
