Actress Rosie O’Donnell recently revealed that she told her daughter that it was okay to be a girl and still “like all the boy stuff” in a conversation concerning the topic of gender identity where she discussed how she herself was a “tomboy” that still “loved being a girl.”
According to The Daily Wire, O’Donnell’s comments were made during an episode of fellow actress Mayim Bialik’s podcast, “Bialik Breakdown,” from May 9, concerning one of the hot button topics in the country right now, mental health.
The chat between O’Donnell and her daughter happened after she told her mom that the stuffed animals she owned were “non-binary,” meaning they are not male or female.
Discussing the conversation with Bialik, O’Donnell said, “I’m like, here we go. Here we go!”

“I said, well that’s fantastic,” she recounted telling her daughter. “You know what’s funny is that I’m a girl who people used to call a tomboy because I liked all the boy stuff when I was little. And you know what’s weird? I still do really like the boy stuff. I like football, I like riding a motorcycle. I like to do a lot of stuff that boys traditionally like to do.”
The former co-host of “The View” went on to explain that growing up, she was never confused about whether or not she was a boy or a girl.
The actress then told Bialik that she explained this to her daughter, stating she always knew she was a girl and enjoyed being female. O’Donnell followed up by telling her that she could be a girl and feel how ever she wanted to feel.
Having nervously rambled on while talking with the young girl, O’Donnell’s daughter responded to the whole conversation by saying, “Are you done?”
O’Donnell is a lesbian who has been married twice to two women. She’s also a foster mom and has adopted a total of five kids since 1995. Her youngest daughter, the one with the “non-binary” stuffed animals, is nine. The actress also has grandchildren.
The popular comedian is a diehard Democrat who has donated a significant amount of money to various left-wing candidates. In fact, a few of the donations she’s made over the years were over the limit allowable by campaign finance law.
