Two young women, Madison Johnson, 22, and Heidi Johnson, 21, both of Knoxville, TN, were found murdered in a home on May 13th and the police have accused and arrested Jair Martin, 26, as being responsible for their murders.
The Knoxville Police Department identified Jair Martin as the suspect and asked for information that would lead to his arrest in a post on Facebook, saying:
Efforts remain ongoing to locate Jair Martin, who is wanted on two counts of first-degree murder in the May 13th death of Heidi and Madison Johnson at a home on Woodlawn Pike. Despite the sustained focus of Field
Operations officers and Homicide Unit detectives, as well as numerous tips that have been received, Martin’s whereabouts remain unknown. Martin also goes by Max.
A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered through East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest of Martin.
And, in another post identifying the victims and fingering Martin as being responsible for the crime, the Knoxville Police Department said:
UPDATE: The victims from the double murder that happened on Saturday morning at the home on Woodlawn Pike have been identified as Madison Johnson, 22 of Knoxville, and Heidi Johnson, 21 of Knoxville.
Through continued investigation by KPD Homicide Unit detectives, Jair Martin, 26, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, stemming from the death of both Madison and Heidi Johnson.
Martin’s whereabouts are unknown at this time and efforts to locate him remain ongoing. Anyone who knows where Martin might be is urged to contact East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers at 865-215-7165.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation then later provided an update that the suspect was arrested, saying:

A #TNMostWantedAlert has been issued for 26-year-old Jair Romario Martin. He is wanted out of Knoxville for two counts of First Degree Murder.
Martin should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see him or have information concerning his whereabouts, please call the Knoxville Police Department – TN at 865-215-7165 or the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
The Knoxville Police Department announced that Martin had been taken into custody as well, saying, “BREAKING: Double murder suspect Jair Martin was just taken into custody by SOS personnel at an apartment on Goins Drive. Numerous KPD officers responded to the apartment after receiving information that Martin was possibly inside.”
The motive for the shooting has not yet been shared, though Knox News reports that Madison Johnson was dating the suspect. Knox News also reported that there were indications the suspect had a “violent side,” saying:
Cassidy Johnson said she had dated the suspect for about a year, saying that while he sometimes showed a violent side, it was never directed at her.
“I don’t know what flipped his switch,” she said. “We knew him, he was friends with my entire family. It’s mind-boggling, really.”
