Last Monday, Fox News was beaten by MSNBC in total primetime viewers. The figures indicate that Fox News, which has always dominated cable news ratings, is suffering in the absence of its former most popular host Tucker Carlson.
John Nolte wrote about the ratings on Breitbart:
CNN—a left-wing propaganda outlet that spreads conspiracy theories and encourages political violence against Republicans—was so far in last place Monday it looked like the speck of dirt it really is.
On Monday, without any special programming, MSNBC averaged a total of 1.859 million total primetime viewers.
On that same Monday, without Tucker Carlson, Fox News fell behind MSNBC, with an average of only 1.719 million total primetime viewers.
*pause for a hearty laugh*
Oh, and on Monday, CNNLOL averaged just 485,000 total primetime viewers.
As Nolte addresses in his article, CNN’s dismal ratings are nothing new as they have been declining. CNN even fell behind Newsmax in primetime viewership ratings last week. NBCUniversal executive Mike Sington, tweeted, “CNN prime time viewership drops below Newsmax. Friday, average total viewers, 8 to 11 pm: Fox News, 1.44 million MSNBC, 1.08 million Newsmax, 357,000 CNN, 335,000.”

However, it is notable that Fox News, which has always maintained a significant lead ahead of the rest of the news networks, is now in second place according to Monday’s primetime viewership. It appears that Tucker Carlson took a large chunk of Fox News’ audience with him when he left. Revolver reported on Fox’s notable drop in viewership in late April:
On Tuesday night, during the 8:00 pm hour Fox News only attracted 1.7 million viewers, down significantly from the numbers Tucker brought in. And take a look at Hannity’s ratings. He’s down approximately a million eyeballs.
Tucker was a huge “lead-in” boost for Sean, and without those numbers, Sean could be big in trouble—Laura Ingraham, too. Keep in mind, last Tuesday when Tucker was on air at 8:00 pm, Fox news registered these numbers: 481,000/3,223,000.
Last night at 8:00 pm, without Tucker Carlson, these were the numbers: 159,333 | 1,777,000.
Fox News is down a whopping two-thirds in the key demographic.
Furthermore, Tucker Carlson recently announced a new show that will be exclusively uploaded to Twitter. The video of the announcement has now been viewed over 131 million times. The video shattered the internet when it was initially uploaded, gaining almost 23 million views in just 24 hours, showing how eager conservatives were to hear an update from Carlson. Within 1 hour of Tucker posting the announcement to his Twitter page, the video had almost 2 million views, blowing Fox News ratings out of the water. The American Tribune reported:
Carlson posted the video Wednesday evening, where he went on a monologue about how the establishment media operates to suppress certain opinions that do not agree with the regime. Within an hour of posting it, the video received 1.8 million views, more than the 1.7 million his old 8:00 p.m. time slot at Fox News Channel gained on Tuesday night. As of writing the article, the video has a whopping 76.4 million views. See the monologue below.
The decision to part ways with Tucker has disastrously affected Fox News’ cable viewership. However, maybe Tucker will have even greater opportunities ahead of him.
