Beloved game show host Pat Saga’s daughter Maggie will be starring as she fills in for Vanna White as a co-host for “Wheel of Fortune.” Maggie Sajak broke the news in an Instagram post where she shared the exciting news with the fans.
Maggie has been a social correspondent for the show since 2021, so she is no stranger to the other “Wheel of Fortune” team members. According to Fox News, she said:
“The Wheel of Fortune staff and crew have always been like an extended family.
“And I’m thrilled to be working with them. It’s a real privilege to be able to treat the show’s longtime viewers to a look at what goes on when the cameras aren’t rolling. Plus, I get to use the carpool lane with my father!”
Maggie received some ire from fans when it was suggested that Pat Sajak may be grooming her to become a new full-time host of the show once his long reign is over. While it is unclear whether that is the case, Fox News wrote that some fans of the show were voicing their concerns over this issue on Reddit:
Maggie joined Pat for the episode’s farewell message at the end of last year and discussed hosting Christmas Trivia with her father. The 76-year-old host praised his daughter, saying, “You were actually a good host!”
“They are so grooming Maggie Sajak to take over for Vanna. Nepotism at its best!” one user on Reddit wrote.
Another fan expressed anger over the speculation: “The whole Maggie Sajak thing annoys me to no end. I cringe whenever they show her and her made-up “social correspondent” job.”
Maggie is no stranger to performing. She started her country music career at the ripe young age of sixteen. People writes:
When Maggie was just 16 years old, she released her first single, the country-pop track “First Kiss.” The song’s music video was directed by well-known country music video director Trey Fanjoy and filmed in Nashville.
Her other singles include “Wild Boy,” “Live Out Loud” and “If I Was Gonna Go.”
Pat Sajak has been a stalwart on TV, but also in the eyes of many conservatives who revere is lack of timidity with regard to sharing his conservative political and social values. Todd from The American Tribune wrote:
“He’s also been a long-time supporter of conservative values and has not necessarily shied away from them. In fact, since 2003 he has served as a board member for Hillsdale College, one of the most prominent conservative, Christian higher educational settings in the country.
“Still, leftist cancel culture doesn’t play by any set of rules; it merely attacks when the time feels right. And they are attacking in full force after a photograph of Sajak and firebrand congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green was allegedly snapped earlier this month.”
