As talk of gun control builds in intensity after the mass shootings that occurred recently, one conservative actor took to Twitter to utterly demolish the gun control narrative in a brilliant tweet. That actor was James Woods and, in his tweet, he said: “To make things perfectly clear, those who are proposing “gun control” are not proposing the eradication of guns. They are proposing the centralization of firearms in the hands of government, the very definition of totalitarianism. This is, as usual, only about power.”

That was far from the first tweet Woods posted about gun control recently. In late April, for instance, he said “Excellent question. Firearms safety training is essential to guarantee proper gun handling and storage. If, however, we make it mandatory, leftist gun grabbers will find ways to abuse that requirement to undermine our constitutional rights. We learned in school in my day.”

In any case, Woods’ tweet comes alongside pro-gun control messaging from the Biden Administration. Vice President Kamala Harris, for example, recently said (emphasis ours), “While there is much we do not yet know about this attack, here is what we do know: all Americans deserve to be safe from gun violence. But they are not. Not because we do not know the solutions. Not because the American people are divided on this issue – even a majority of gun owners support sensible reforms. President Biden signed the most significant gun safety legislation in 30 years and implemented important executive actions, but more must be done. Send a bill to President Biden that bans assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, implements universal background checks, and helps keep guns out of the hands of people who are a danger to themselves and others. We need action.”
But gun control wasn’t the only leftist narrative Woods attacked on Twitter. He also backed the blue, taking a strong stand against anti-police rhetoric and violence.
That began with a tweet in which he called for the death penalty for the killing of cops in response to a story about a Wisconsin deputy being killed in the line of duty, saying, “29 years old. May she rest in peace. The killing of a law enforcement officer in the line of duty should result in a mandatory death penalty in every state in America.”
Responding to Woods’ tweet, one person said “So sad. My daughter James with my grandson. Beverly Hills PD. 💙🇺🇸🙏🏼” Woods then complimented the Beverly Hills Police Department and its officers, saying, “I’ve been fortunate enough to get to know some members of Beverly Hills PD. Crime is sweeping over all of LA County and BHPD is in the thick of the fight. You must be so proud of your daughter. We all thank her for her service.”

In another recent pro-police post Woods highlighted the story of a Chicago police officer killed in the line of duty, saying, “24 years old. Serving her fellow citizens and standing for law and order. May others take up the mantle of this fallen hero and save our broken nation. Rest in peace.”
