Posting on his Twitter timeline on Monday, hit podcaster and political commentator Tim Pool suggested that Tucker Carlson could make $100 million if he plays his cards right now that he and Fox News have parted ways, as was announced on Monday morning.
“Tucker knows he will make 100M per year on his own and Fox is [f***ed],” he said.

That followed his tweet in which he said that “Fox is done” without Tucker:

In another post he compared Fox News to Bud Light for destroying its brand by getting rid of Tucker:

Tim Pool isn’t the only one who thinks Tucker will succeed on his own. Megyn Kelly said so as well on her podcast, saying, “I firmly believe Tucker will be better off. I think these cable networks are dinosaurs … getting out under the thumb of the big corporate management is a blessing. It is a blessing and I know he’s smart enough to know that.”
She also said, during that podcast episode, “This is a terrible move by Fox and it’s a great thing for Tucker Carlson. I don’t know what drove Fox News to make this decision and it was clearly Fox News’ decision because they are not letting him say goodbye. That’s my supposition.”
And it wasn’t just Tucker’s financial future that Tim Pool commented on. He also suggested that Tucker might run for president in 2024. Replying to a tweet by Cenk Uygur of the Young Turks, Pool said, “Cenk may be on to something. Tucker maybe running? There were rumors before about this.” Uygur, in his tweet, said, “Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News! I’ve been saying that he has been trying to get fired from there for quite some time now. Why? To potentially run for president. And it’s not too late yet for 2024. So, things could get real interesting around here.”

Many others disagreed with that take, however. For example, one commenter on Pool’s tweet said, “Good grief. TC isn’t running for any office because he knows how DC politics really work. He can have a voice outside the beltway and be more effective at getting the message out. Please, let’s stay focused.”
Fox News, in its statement released on Monday morning about it and Tucker parting ways, said:
