St. Louis Congresswoman Cori Bush, a member of the disastrous “Squad” on Capitol Hill, alongside other mean and nasty women Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and AOC, just released a book that absolutely no one wanted to read. Reports are coming out that, despite making extra event media appearances on shows like The View and The Daily Show, that just 729 people purchased a copy in its first week of release.
That’s hilariously bad. Outkick wrote:
According to NPD BookScan which tracks book sales, Bush’s new waste of paper sold just 729 copies. 729.
She’s a congresswoman, “Squad” member, and supposedly an up-and-comer in the Democratic Party, and yet she couldn’t find more than 750 people who want to read what she has to say.
Even after appearing on TV shows like The View and The Daily Show to promote the book, she couldn’t move more than 729 in the first week.
You can bet her publisher isn’t happy about this. Per her financial disclosure report, her publisher, Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group, gave an advance between $50,000 and $100,000. To put it simply, the publisher is taking an absolute beating on this one.
Making it worse – well, better for us – an abysmal 288 copies were sold in the second week, according to the same NPD bookscan. A few comments on Twitter suggested 729 people had run out of toilet paper for the week, thus driving the sales.
Still, for what it’s worth, Bush’s book sales are legion compared to that of current First Lady Jill Biden’s. In April of this year, the wife of the most popular president in electoral history – a man who got more than 81 million votes – sold just 250 books in its first week of sales. That isn’t a typo.
As The Blaze pointed out,
Columnist Tim Young pointed out, “81 million votes, but Jill Biden’s new biography only sold 250 total copies in 1 week.”
Republican Congressional candidate Dr. Willie J. Montague added, “81,000,000 votes, though.”
Actor Nick Searcy declared, “EIGHTY-ONE MILLION VOTES FOR THE MOST POPULAR PRESIDENT IN HISTORY.”
Talk show host Chris Stigall noted, “Her husband got the most votes in the history of presidential elections, you know?”
Political commentator Kambree Kawahine Koa tweeted, “How humiliating. Jill Biden’s biography only sold 250 copies it’s first week. It blows my mind considering her husband is the most popular president in American history.”
One possible explanation in both cases is that leftists prefer scrolling on TikTok for ten seconds at a time rather than wade through pictureless words and take the effort to read themselves. That’s certainly not out of the question.
Another explanation is simply that no one cares what people like Cori Bush and Jill Biden have to say. They are mean, cruel, out of touch, and political actors. They offer nothing of substance and their words, which are probably those of ghostwriters than the actual “authors” anyways, mean nothing.
Whatever the reason, it’s great to see these efforts bomb spectacularly.
