Two entertainment giants collided on Sunday when Taylor Swift appeared at the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs versus Chicago Bears game on Sunday afternoon. There has been buzz surrounding a potential relationship between star Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift for weeks now, and this seems to put the rumors to rest.
During the Chiefs’ 41-10 victory over the Chicago Bears, Kielce scored a touchdown on a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which helped seal the deal for Kansas City. On the way out of the stadium, Kielce was seen walking out with Swift as the two made their way to their vehicles after what may have been the start of a romance between the couple.
The potential couple has made waves throughout the league and has spilled over into general pop culture, with Taylor Swift fans finding themselves interested in football for the first time ever. The NFL even went so far as to post a video of the two leaving the stadium together on the league’s main page.
Other than the rumor of the two dating, many Taylor Swift fans, who call themselves “Swifts,” have taken to Twitter to share their own theories about the couple’s reason for dating and even, in some cases, to predict how the relationship will end.
One such fan, Kelly Keegs of Barstool Sports, hypothesized that maybe this relationship is just a marketing color for Swift who has found so much success over the course of her career with songs written about breakups and ex-lovers.
Keegs Tweeted, “What if this is all just a big ad for a new Blank Space (Taylor’s Version) music video and Travis fits the “cause you know I love the players, and you love the game” line. He loves to act and joke around!!!!”
Other fans are pumping the breaks on relationship talks, with one in particular pointing out that going to one football game is not synonymous with tying the knot. She said, “Not to be a dick but if everyone who invited me to a game meant I was dating them I’d be in way more relationships.”

Patrick Mahomes was very aware of Taylor Swift’s presence and the fact that she was there to cheer on Travis Kelce, one of Mahomes’ favorite passing targets. So, as any good wingman would do in this situation, Mahomes made it a point to find ways to get the football to Kelce and let his big target make some plays.
Maybe, when all is said and done, Mahomes will be known as the man who set his tight end up with the biggest female pop star of this generation. Of course, it will be hard to overcome the multiple Super Bowl trophies and MVP awards that the Chiefs star quarterback has already won.
